Don't ask me why, but I have been on a Power Ranger binge lately. I can't get enough of them! So I've decided to reveiw each and every season of it, from Mighty Morphin up to Jungle Fury and beyond. So here we go, with the show that started it all.
Ok, so the story goes that Rita Repulsa, this evil witch chick, busted out of a prison Zordon had trapped her in 10,000 years ago. Now, she wants to rule the earth! What a surprise! So it turns out Zordon (a giant blue head encased in a dome) has a few tricks up his sleeves...or um...ears I guess. So he tells his gay robot Alpha to summon 5 random teenagers from a local high school which he gives magic coins with the powers of (get this) dinosaurs, that turn them into spandex clad multi colored super heroes called Power Rangers. Uh huh. Anyways, they use these powers to fight against Rita and her neverending parade of monsters. When they deafeat a monster, Rita makes it bigger, they summon robot versions of their dinosaurs called zords, fuse the zords together to make a megazord, then defeat the monster. Usually. Sometimes they get their asses handed to them. One moment that will forever live on in PR history is when Rita kidnaps another teen from the same high school the first group was from and gives him powers which turn him into the Green Ranger and he uber pwns the other rangers. That is untill they save him using the power of friendship or some shit like that. Hooray. Then he joins them and they fight Rita together. Hooray. You know, looking back at this now, this show made really no sense. It was pretty much just a marketing ploy to get kids to by the action figures based of the show (a marketing ploy I am ashamed to say I fell for). We loved it though!
Here's another matter I want to address: the multiple casting problems. In total, there were 10 different people at one time or another playing power rangers. The Red Rangers Jason and Rocky, the Pink Rangers Kimberly and Katherine, the Blue Ranger Billy, and Tommy, who played the Green, then the White Ranger. The worst of all was the matter of Zack (played by Walter Jones) and Trini (played by Thuy Trang). Zack was African American, and Trini was Asian. That's fine, but the problem came with their Ranger colors. Zack was the Black Ranger, and Trini was the Yellow Ranger. Ouch. After a season or two, they booted them and (probably in an effort to make themselves look better) they made Adam (an Asian boy) the new Black Ranger, and Aiesha (an African American girl) the new Yellow Ranger. Very clever Saban!
All together, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was a good show. Sure the action was overdone a bit, and the lines were cornier than...well...corn chowder, but it was a good show. The best part was the theme song though:
Overall, I give MMPR an 8.5/10. Next time I will be reveiwing the Mighty Mophin Power Rangers movie! Hope u enjoyed reading!

#4: Mystic Force
#3: Wild Force
This is the most recent season, the one on TV now. Terrible show, great opening. What can I say?
#2: Jungle Fury
Ah yes, the one that started it all. It there any doubt why I chose this as my favorite?
#1: Mighty Morphin
Well, those are my 10 favorite Power Ranger theme songs. My least favorite? Definately Operation Overdrive. Never put Power Rangers and rap together. Ugh.
Updated: 08/12/08 12:33 AM 0 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!I've decided to do a top ten list. No one will probably read it but I'll make it anyways. I grew up watching the Power Rangers. They kicked ass as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, than the show sucked. It's disappointing really. Anyways, I went on YouTube and caught up on some theme songs and these are my pick of the Top Ten Power Ranger theme songs...even though there's only been like...14 of em...Also, keep in mind that this is based on their theme songs, not the quality of the show.
#10: Time Force
#9: Ninja Storm
#8: Zeo
#7: Lost Galaxy
#6: Turbo
5-1 coming soon! OMFG
Updated: 08/11/08 10:26 PM 0 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!I've decided to continue random game reveiws. Hurray for me.
Final Fantasy XII Platform: PS2
Concept: The latest in the Final Fantasy saga with the deepest story yet...but that's only my opinon. I don't want any rabid Final Fantasy fanboys attacking me...
Graphics/Quality: By far the best graphics of any Final Fantasy game, and the best on the PS2.
Sound/Audio: Another virtual masterpeice by...um...that guy with the Japenese name that's really hard to pronounce.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10 What are you waiting for? GO BUY THE DAMN GAME!
Destroy All Humans 2 Platforms: PS2, Xbox
Concept: With Destroy All Humans 3: Path of the Furon coming out soon, I figured I may as well reveiw the second one, and this one, just like the first as the title suggests, you have to destroy all humans.
Graphics/Quality: Explosions look pretty cool, but everything else is just average.
Sound/Audio: The dialouge is funny at times, but it does get old after too long. On another note, the soundtrack didn't wow me like the first game did either.
Overall Rating: 8/10 A worthy sequal to Destroy All Humans, but didn't go as far sound or even graphic wise as the first game. I still think it's ten times better than the barf that was Big Willy Unleashed.
Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run Platforms: PS2, Xobx
The Rock is in this game. That was the only good thing about this game, and one of the reasons I rented it. (RENTED) But after playing for 5 minutes, I realized that there are some things that even the Rock can't save. This game was supposed to be realeased about the same time as a movie by the same title, but the project flopped and was scrapped, yet the game was still released. The game is a mix of driving scenes and third person shooter sequences, both of which feel bland. Driving the Spymoblie (or whatever the damn thing is called) is kind of cool, but a Batmobile ripoff and an awesome wrestler turned movie star isn't enough to save this awful pile of...yuckness.
Overall Rating: 2/10
Banjo-Kazooie Platform: N64 Release Date: June 1998
A true platforming classic. I love this game. I didn't think much of it back then. I was only 9 at the time, but now I realize it's true glory. You play as Banjo. A bear with a bird named Kazooie in your backpack. Together you try to defeat the evil witch Grunty. This game was one of the pioneers of the collecting games, live musical notes, eggs, feathers, puzzle peices, skulls, and even more. In most games collecting was just a bonus, but this game encouraged you to collect things in order to move on. Even though now the game has blatently obvious...um...things, like ugly graphics and terrible camera control, this game will always be a classic in my mind.
Overall Rating: 9/10
I am beyond pissed off. Avatar the Last Airbender was probably the only good show left on Nick, and now its over. That's not why I'm pissed though. WARNING: SPOILER ALERT
So basically, the show's climaxes were the four battles going on at once. The first was the battle to save Bae Sing Sae (or how ever the hell you pronounce it), the second was between Azula and Zuko to determine the ruler of the Fire Nation, the third was Sokka, Suki, and Toph fighting in the skies against a fleet of Fire Nation airships and the last was the ultimate battle between Aang and the Fire Lord (excuse me, PHOENIX lord). The battles were epic, and that's defenately not why I'm pissed. I'm pissed because after all was said and done, they ended the series with Katara and Aang kissing! What the fuck?!
Ultimately, the last episode gets a 9/10 for the sucky ending. The series rocked, and it was a good run. Oh well, might as well go back to NBC comidies. Sigh...

Concept: Absolutely gorgeous adventure game. You play as a wolf/guardian thing named Amaterasu, and using your Celestial Bursh to save the world. Eventually you take on a giant eight headed dragon named Orochi.
Graphics/Quality: Think of the cel shading from Windwaker. Then multiply it by 10 and give it a more "artistic" flare, and you have Okami.
Sound/Audio: As beatiful as the graphics.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10
LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy Platforms: 360, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, DS
Concept: The next (and probably last) entry in the LEGO Star Wars series, this one spans the last three movies: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.
Graphics/Quality: Well...they are LEGO's...just imagine animated LEGO charecters, and you have yourself the game.
Sound/Audio: How can you go wrong with tracks from the films? Also, the stormtroopers (much like the droids in the first LEGO Star Wars) have some funny mumblings and animations...you have to see them to get what I mean.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10 In my personal opinion, not as good as the first game. In fact, if you don't have any LEGO Star Wars Games, don't buy this. Buy the complete saga. If you already have the first game, you'll get some enjoyment out of this one.
Deep Labyrinth Platform: DS
Oh god kill me now. This game is horrible. There's first person action gameplay (and in my personal opinion, first person NEVER works on the DS) and some crappy spell drawing to try to make it "original", but still, everything about this game makes me want to curl up and die! I can't recommend this game to anyone. In fact, I think I'll go jump off a cliff now, just for playing this god awful peice of shit.
Overall Rating: 3/10
Johnny Bazookatone Platform: PSX Release Date: Feburary 1996
Ah 2D platformers. Why have you turned so suckish? I yearn for the days of old where a bad platformer was few and far between. Then there was this. Your main weapon is a guitar gun, and your main charecter is an Elvis knockoff with purple hair. Still following me? That's not even the worst yet. The worst part is probably the soundtrack. It's suppossed to be sounding like cool 70's or 80's music, but it ends up sounding like the soundtrack of a porno. God. I'd rather eat an entire PS3 than be forced to play this.
Overall Rating: 3/10
I decided I might as well give this a try. Every so often from now on, I'll talk about a few games I like, a few games I don't like, and a retro game, like from the 80's or 90's. So...here goes...
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Platform: Xbox 360/PS2
Concept: Tom Clancy has done it again. He reinvented his Ghost Recon series (originally on the Xbox) for the next generation and made it better 10 fold.
Graphics/Quality: Simply amazing. It feels like your actually in Mexico City.
Audio/Sound: Again, amazing. Guns firing everywhere, your teammates shouting to you, your enemies shouting Spanish at you, all of it makes the game even more realistic.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10
Kingdom Hearts 2 Platform: PS2
Concept: The sequal to one of the best games of 2002, reprise your role as Sora with your faithful sidekicks Donald and Goofy to save the worlds from the Heartless and Nobodies.
Graphics/Quality: Very impressive. Intentionally cartoony (it is set in a Final Fantasy/Disney universe) the graphics may be, but still, they look as lifelike as cartoons can be.
Audio/Sound: Square Enix, you've done it again! The music is unforgettable, and if you've ever played a Final Fantasy game, you know why I praise it.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10 The one thing that stopped the game from reaching perfection was the overall amount of cutscenes. Ugh...the entire first 20 minutes of the game are cutscenes, and for the first 5 minutes, you can't skip them! The worst part is that the cutscenes are all split up. So one ends and you think, "Hey, am I finally going to be able to play?" Nope! More cutscenes! And when you finally can move, you go 2 feet and guess what? MORE CUTSCENES! I'd say almost half the game is cutscenes! Sure you can skip them, but that usually makes you miss vital story imformation! All right...enough ranting...next game!
WARNING! BAD GAME ALERT!
Torino 2006 Platform: PS2, Xbox
Hopefully, you've never heard of this game. Now that you have, STAY AWAY FROM IT! It's rediculous! It's essentially a bobsled racing game, and the commentators suck! What they say doesnt match the onscreen action! It's rediculous! The crowd does the same thing at once. If one guy stands up, they all stand up! It's like a big game of Simon Fucking Says! For the love of god just stay away...stay away...
Rating: 4/10
Kirby's Avalanche Platform: SNES Release Date: April 1995
Ah the ninties...the end of the "classic console era" and the beginning of a wave of Tetris immatators. Kirby's Avalance was one of them. It's not good. It's not bad either. It's like Purgatory. Somewhere between Heaven and Hell. All you gotta do is drop blobs that match other blobs on top of each other and make chains! No, that's not like Tetris at all! This game is a lot like a slightly more popular mediocre Tetris knockoff: Dr. Robotnick's Mean Bean Machine. It even has the same type of blob...bean...things...yeah...
Well, that's my first few games. Tell me what you think.
